Hotel group targets northern cities as part of ambitious growth plan
Record year for growth just the start of exciting period for UK division of business

In what has been a record year for the Great Britain arm of the business, BWH Hotels is preparing for even more impressive growth with targets across the north of England in its sights.

BWH Hotels is Great Britain’s largest group of independent hotels with brands – including Best Western and luxury World Hotels – supporting hoteliers with commercial operations, and giving them global reach.

This year alone, BWH Hotels has added 832 rooms and 12 diverse and unique hotels to its portfolio. These new hotels are located across the country from Eastbourne on the south coast, to Sunderland in the North East.

This is complemented by impressive web traffic increases of 10% driving conversion for its partners and an 11% YoY increase in bookings via bestwestern.co.uk.

Also joining BWH Hotels this year was its first partnership with a long-stay location with the Liverpool Dockside Aparthotel joining the group. Now BWH Hotels is looking for hoteliers in cities in the north of England like Leeds and Manchester.

Robert Alley, BWH Hotels GB Brand Director, said: “Given our incredible business growth in 2024, our ambitions for Northern city-centre locations in 2025 and beyond are challenging but definitely achievable.

“There are still key cities in the North with city centre hotels which could genuinely benefit from joining forces with BWH Hotels and we look forward to welcoming more high-quality independent hotels to our group.

“We pride ourselves on delivering value to our partner hotels and is exactly why many choose to stay with us for decades, so – if you want to remain independent but get a global reach – BWH Hotels are your perfect partner.”

Hotels joining the group enjoy a range of benefits such as a global loyalty scheme, affiliate marketing programmes and and global web connectivity at competitive commercial terms versus other global hotel brands.

BWH Hotels also get to keep their independence and unique character, and this is celebrated. Worldwide BWH Hotels operates out of more than 100 countries with 4,200 hotels and 60 million rewards members.
